You may or may not have heard that there was actually some action at this year’s U.S. Open. We’ve been saying that this is a problem for years. People get so excited from all the hot tennis action that they go overboard and end up in fights.

And that’s what happened here. It looks like you some hardcore New York dude arguing with some woman and her dad/husband.

We don’t know what the argument was over, but she slapped him in the face. Not sure who was right or wrong, but that is assault. It’s also assault when the old dude goes over and starts a physical altercation with the dude. We have feeling was at fault from the beginning, but that doesn’t mean you can just go hit people.

Apparently, Roger Goodell was sufficiently pleased by Ben’s progress as a human being and doesn’t think he’s going to rape anyone any time soon.

“Roethlisberger’s suspension is 4 games. He has left the NY area and is en route back to Pittsburgh. Full story ahead on NFL Network,” La Canfora tweets.

The Steelers look like they’ll have more than a few guys chipping in at starting QB this year. Byron Leftwich is most likely going to miss the first month or so after he suffered a torn MCL on Thursday night.

That means they’ll be relying on Dennis Dixon for a bit until either Leftwich or Big Ben comes back. Or just Big Ben, there is always the possibility that Dixon plays well enough that they won’t pull him for Byron.

But, those hopes will have to be shelved as Adam Schefter reports that the team fears that Hardesty has a torn ACL.

“Early diagnosis on Browns rookie RB Montario Hardesty: torn ACL. More exams today to confirm the news, but a blow to the Browns,” Schefter tweets.

Hardesty had microfracture surgery on his right knee in 2006, which is a pretty bad thing for a running back. And now for him to potentially have a torn ACL? Ouch. Not sure what they could expect from him moving forward.

Especially since he plays for the Browns, which means a staph infection is just right around the corner.

Move Jerome Harrison up your draft boards.

PHOTO CAPTION: Crayton gets a 15-yard penalty for horse-collaring himself

“It seems he doesn’t figure in their plans so it’s not logical to be on the roster until Saturday,” his agent Fred Lyles spoke on behalf of the disgruntled receiver. “We don’t see the use in prolonging it.”

Most likely, it will happen. Crayton is owed $2 million this year and that seems a bit much for a 5th receiver’s salary. Patrick finds himself behind teammates Miles Austin, Roy Williams, Dez Bryant, and possibly even Kevin Ogletree.

If Crayton is cut, he will definitely find another team to play for. He will join that team with the thought of getting increased playing time and changing the world. In reality, he’ll be a part-time slot receiver catching less balls than he thinks he should be.

We kept looking for a quote or a source in this story and didn’t find one. But, Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports says that if the New York Jets don’t come to an agreement with all-world CB Darrelle Revis soon, the relationship could be over.

As in…for good.

“Here’s a little piece of information for Ryan and the rest of the New York Jets: If Revis doesn’t get a new contract soon, New York doesn’t have to worry about the star cornerback showing up,” Cole writes. “Ever.

“As the clock ticks to the beginning of the NFL season, the relationship between the Jets and Revis is ticking toward an end. A divorce, really. That might sound like hysteria to some but it’s reality.”

Cole notes that Revis’ asking price isn’t all that crazy considering that a guy like Peyton Manning is probably going to get $25 million per year when he gets his next contract. So, is Revis crazy for asking for $16 million a year?

Don’t forget, as Cole points out, that Revis’ uncle is Sean Gilbert. This is the guy that sat out a year looking for $4-$5 million a year from the Washington Redskins. He missed an entire year, and then got $7 million from the Carolina Panthers.

With that kind of advice in his ear, it’s not crazy to think that he’ll stick to his guns and possibly – we emphasize “possibly” – never play for the Jets again.

Well, a big part of the problem is poor center play. Nick Cole is not a center. He’s not. He can’t make the calls. And Mike McGlynn was a little better, but he’s not really a center.

Good news for Eagles fans, starting center Jamaal Jackson said in a sideline interview on Thursday night that he’s “99.9%” sure that he’ll play in the opener against the Green Bay Packers.

He tore his ACL late in the season against Denver and one could argue that that was a big reason why the Eagles got knocked in the dirt twice in a row by the Dallas Cowboys. For him to be back in time for the opener would be huge. Then again, him saying he’s going to play and the doctors clearing him are two different things.

Now, of course he probably won’t be himself if he does play, but even 20% of Jackson is probably better than the crap they were getting from the other guys.

You can see the video here.

We’re already into the game at this point, so it’s clear that the starters aren’t getting any work. No Kevin Kolb. No DeSean Jackson (we actually don’t think he should have been out there). But, also, no Stacy Andrews.

I’m sorry, but Stacy Andrews needs to be out there. He is a starter in name only. He either, A. Hasn’t recovered from his ACL injury two years ago, or B. Can’t play guard, or C. Both.

But, check out the video and listen to G. talk some Birds with Sheil…..now!

Yep, you read that right. A 33-year old WR who likes to pop off at the mouth is making $7 million guaranteed. What team wouldn’t want that?

Would the Vikings be interested? Probably not. Titans? Nope, every year we all talk about how needy they are for a wide receiver and they rarely address it. Browns? Can’t see it.

And what does this say about Housh? Seattle’s wide receivers are terrible, they certainly don’t have any room to be dropping somewhat-quality wideouts.

So yeah, have a good time with that one Seattle.

Thanks to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel for piecing the whole thing together.
So here you go. Draw your own conclusion.

”A SHORT STORY,” by Da’Sean Butler

Once upon a time there was a young boy named Da’Sean. Da’Sean was 22 years old and lived in Newark, NJ. While walking home from school one day, a Purple Dinosaur jumped out from behind a Brick Wall and tackled Da’Sean to the ground. But just when he was about to let out a scream for help, Da’Sean realized that the Purple Dinosaur was only licking his face, not trying to bite it off. At that moment, Da’Sean decided to keep the Purple Dinosaur as a pet. And on the way home he decided to name his pet Purple Dinosaur “Barney.”

When Da’Sean and his new pet finally got home, guess who was standing on the front porch? That’s right, it was Da’Sean’s mother, Koreena. And boy was she surprised to see a Purple Dinosaur following Da’Sean into the yard! “What in world is that?” shouted Koreena. “It’s a Purple Dinosaur,” answered Da’Sean. “Dah, I can see that, Da’Sean, but what on earth is it doing here?” said Koreena. “It’s my new pet!” answered Da’Sean. “Oh you think so do you?” remarked Koreena. “I wouldn’t get your hopes up. You know how your father hates Purple Dinosaurs. But, well, I suppose you can keep him until your father comes home.” And with that Da’Sean grabbed Barney by the scruff of the neck and led his new pet into the house–even though he knew his father was probably going to disapprove.

Once in the house, Da’Sean and Barney played and played, that is until Da’Sean’s favorite television show, “Family Guy,” started. At that point Da’Sean forgot all about Barney having an unsupervised run of the house. That is until half way through “Family Guy,” when Da’Sean was brought back to reality when he heard his father shout, “OMG!! Da’Sean! Get your whoopie cakes in the Kitchen…NOW!!” With that Da’Sean rushed into the Kitchen to see what all the fuss was about. When he entered the Kitchen, there stood his father, Da’Sean Butler, pointing toward the Table. “Will someone please explain that?” asked his father. Then, as Da’Sean followed his father’s finger to where it was pointing, he instantly knew what his father was so upset about. There, smack dab in the middle of the Table, the biggest pile of Dinosaur doo-doo he had ever seen! “I don’t EVEN want to know how that got there,” said Da’Sean Butler. “But you had better get it cleaned up now! And you had better get rid of whatever it is that could have done such a thing!”

Well, knowing his father as well as he did, Da’Sean knew there was no sense even asking his father if he could keep Barney for a pet. So without hesitation, Da’Sean set out to find where Barney was hiding. After a few minutes of looking, Da’Sean discovered Barney crouched beneath the table that Da’Sean did his Playing X-Box and reading books.

“Come on, Barney, it’s time to find you a new home. And hey, don’t look at me that way, I’m not the one who did the dirty deed on the Table!” scolded Da’Sean. “Thanks to you I’ll never get to have my own pet

Dinosaur!! And with that Da’Sean led Barney out of the house and down to the local Game Stop. They had a pet section and Da’Sean knew the owner would find Barney a good home. Da’Sean cried a deep cry. he had lost his only friend in the world.

So after saying good-bye to Barney, and thanking the owner of Game Stop, Da’Sean walked backed home and attempted to drowned his sorrows by slamming down a half dozen Root Beers. But Da’Sean’s pity party came to an abrupt end when his father reminded him about the mess he had neglected to clean up. And low and behold, midway through the clean-up, Da’Sean suddenly became thankful that someone else was going to have to do it from now on.

The End.

Moral of the story: Sometimes you best friends can get your “whoopee cakes” n a lot of trouble be sure to listen to your parents they know what’s best.

We. Are. Stunned.

We mentioned last night that Washington Nationals centerfielder Nyjer Morgan won OTR’s Gentleman of the Week for September based on him throwing a baseball at a fan and starting a fight with the Florida Marlins.

Well, we found the video of this fight on Deadspin and it really paints Morgan in a positive light. Especially the way he WWF’s it on his way off the field.

We like how Volstad stands his ground. He knows he’s bigger than Morgan and we’d have to think that if there wasn’t a huge dog pile, that Volstad would have stomped him like a narc at a biker rally.

Anyway, here is the video of it.

Friday is a big day for the Pittsburgh Steelers, their fans, and fantasy owners who selected Ben Roethlisberger in the 12th round of their fantasy drafts to back-up Brett Favre. Roethlisberger, his attorney David Cornwell, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and team president Arthur J. Rooney will be meeting in New York to determine how many games, if any, they will cut from Roethlisberger’s original six-game suspenion. Brett Favre was giving an informal invitation, but will not be attending.

Roethlisberger was suspended the six games under the “The Personal Conduct Policy” for being accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old college student in a Georgia nightclub in March. It was the second such allegation against Big Ben who has two Super Bowl victories underneath his belt. A belt that seems to come off a little too often when Jaeger Bombs and Miller Lite are mixed with college bars and young women.

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reports that ‘most observers believe Goodell has had in his mind all along to reduce the suspension by two games to four’ if ‘Roethlisberger complied with a number of league-imposed conditions, including a comprehensive behavioral evaluation, and stayed clear of any other off-field problems.’ Fortunately for Big Ben, he hasn’t been accused of sexually assaulting any women lately (the longest stretch of his career), so he should be rewarded with a reduction in his suspension.

Details on the behavioral evaluation:

Roethlisberger will be shown pictures of young women, booze, teammates, and football and he has to respond “good” or “bad.” He must score 75% or higher to pass and has 30 minutes to complete. Pictures of young women wearing Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys will be mixed in to try to trick him. These are called ‘roadblocks.’

Roethlisberger will be given a taste test. Unmarked plastic cups will be filled with Vodka-Redbull, Budweiser, Gatorade, and water and he has to respond “good” or “bad.” He must score 75% or higher to pass and has 30 minutes to complete. A young woman will be giving him the taste test, so if at any time he tries to sexually assault her, Roethlisberger automatically fails the test and the behavioral evaluation.

Roethlisberger must score 75% or higher on both evaluations to pass.

Paolantonio is also reporting that ‘Roethlisberger’s representatives plan to ask the commissioner to reduce the suspension by at least three games. Therefore, he will miss the Atlanta, Tennessee, and Tampa Bay games and return Week Four to play the rival Baltimore Ravens at home. If Roethlisberger only gets a two game reduction, he will miss the Ravens game and then have two weeks to prepare (Bye Week) and return to play the Cleveland Browns (Week Six) at home.

In his absence at the start of the season, Byron Leftwich is supposed to start with Dennis Dixon backing him up.

The spark eventually turned into a rolling blaze, attracting 150 firefighters. It burned through the dry rough, into vegetation adjacent to the course and over two dry, brushy hills. The fire covered 12 acres of Southern California land.

No charges were filed against the golfer, whose name was withheld, but OTR is getting information saying it could have been Paul Blazinger.

Fire officials are still trying to determine if the foursome was engaged in stroke play or match play. If it was the latter, further investigations may be launched.

Already appealing a seven-game suspension for throwing a ball at a fan in the stands, Morgan started a benches-clearing brawl today against the Florida Marlins.

And for that, Morgan wins OTR’s Gentleman of the Week for the month of September!

Marlins starter Chris Volstad hit Morgan with a retaliatory pitch in the early innings of a blowout. So, Morgan stole second and third just to piss them off. It worked.

In the sixth inning, Volstad threw behind Morgan and then it was on. Morgan charged the mound and threw a punch at Volstad. Then Volstad got tackled by Nationals coach.

Job well done, Nyjer! We have a feeling that more than one person has some suspension time coming. Good thing both teams can afford to lose some guys. This is the most excitement either of these teams has seen in a while.

But, let’s not let this distract Morgan from his big day. He’s won September’s OTR Gentleman of the Week!

Or maybe it’s just a move that says “I’m old and I really don’t give a rat’s ass if he’s a freshman.”

No. 19 Penn State will open this season with true freshman Robert Bolden as their starter against Youngstown St. It’s the first time Penn St. will open the season with a true freshman at quarterback, and the first time since 1992 that a true freshman has started a game at all (Wally Richardson).

“Based on what we have seen to this point, Bolden has a slight edge right now, but we are confident all three quarterbacks are ready to go and hope to give them an opportunity to play until we settle on the one that gives us the best chance to win,” Paterno said.

So it’s not like Bolden is set in stone as the starter for the year. But he’s getting the nod on opening day and that’s pretty impressive.

Or remarkably stupid.

Yes he did get paid. And he deserves it. He’s been phenomenal for the Cardinals, especially in his smooth transition to the 3-4 scheme. How many guys have we seen fail when a switch is made? Happens all the time.

Good for him. We have a feeling the Cardinals are going to clear up some cap space soon (ie, kick Leinart to the curb). The bad news for Dockett, though, is that he will now be in Arizona through 2015. At least the weather is nice.

Many of which you could already guess). Sure, you still get to swing your metal club at that little white ball and then get all pissed off after seeing where it went. That part is the same, but how many driving ranges have beer? Now that’s a driving range.

So, we came across this driving range called TopGolf that’s out in the Chicago area (Illinois, even). It’s in Wood Dale and they just opened a rooftop beer garden yesterday.

Photo Caption: I think someone needs a beer.

Now, most will hear about TopGolf and praise them for having uber technology, and they do. You get a ball with a microchip in it that is unique to you. You can track your shots and get points for hitting the ball near stuff. You can play with up to five people or just play the computer. It really is something else. Surely not your typical driving range.

The way it’s set up is that it allows even average players to not want to wrap their clubs around the wheel of a golf cart every time they hit the ball. And the fact that they have beer there too makes it so that I’d be able to drink and either A. Think I’m a decent player, or B. Not care about how bad I am. Everyone wins.

It’s $5 for 20 balls, which is more expensive than a normal driving range, but if you didn’t expect that then I’m not sure what to tell you. I’m ready to go home after 20 balls anyway because I either, A. Have blisters, or B. Am so irritated that staying isn’t an option. Of course, both A. and B. could occur simultaneously.

Players don’t like being blocked or hit a spoken to a certain way, and they get pissy. But, rarely does the scuffle result in both men being sent to the locker room with the head coach for a period of time.

That’s what happened today at San Francisco 49ers practice. It probably would have been better if it wasn’t between two of the team’s superstars, but it was. Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree got into seriously enough that they had to be sent inside and Singletary followed them. Supposedly, Davis was verbally berating Crabtree at practice and the wide receiver didn’t care for it. And it sounds like this was something that’s been brewing for some time.

According to Singletary, “the elephant in the room has been exposed” and this argument was not about football. Uh oh! Is someone banging someone’s wife?

We doubt it, but we thought we’d throw that idea in the ring.

Singletary started his post-practice press conference like this:

“How many of you guys have families? … So you have kids, and every now and then your kids have misunderstandings or what have you. And they forget that there is a father at home,” Singletary said. “Vernon and Crabtree — just to let you know — I will not talk about the issue. But I will talk about this. They were both wrong. And we will not have distractions on this team. Vernon just forgot temporarily that this is not allowed. We don’t do that. We don’t treat family like that. We don’t disrespect each other. I just needed to remind him that’s not who were are.”

But, apparently Davis had the right idea, he just went about it the wrong way. Singletary said that Davis “did the right thing but did it the wrong way.”

Sounds to us like Crabtree needed to be informed of something but that Davis did it in dick fashion.

And some of the calls I get (I love these) during this time of year are about the team someone just drafted. “What do you think about my team?” What difference does it make now? If you’d called me sooner I could have actually helped you out.

On our right sidebar, you can click the “Like It” button, or you can go directly to our page here.

Have questions about who to draft? Who to start? Find us on Facebook and we’ll get back to you. We’ll have other info that we put out as well. Maybe injury news and stuff like that. We don’t know just yet, we just started it. Tell us what you want!

I’ve been playing fantasy football since 1993. Yep, before all this online stuff. I was playing when you had to keep score in the next day’s newspaper with the box scores. I’m not sure exactly how many leagues I’ve been in, but I’m guessing it’s way more than 40. And I can’t imagine how many drafts I’ve done, either for myself or to help someone else.

We love our fantasy football and we want to share our knowledge with you!

It’s a one-year, $2 million deal.

This tells us even more about how much it means for an individual to win a championship. People rag on Dan Marino and Jim Kelly for not winning a Super Bowl. Well if winning it all was so important to the status of an individual, how come Niemi couldn’t get a job until September? Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl in 2000 and the team rewarded him by signing Elvis Grbac.

But, we digress. Niemi was awarded a $2.75 million salary from Chicago by an arbitrator. Great, right? Nope, they decided it was too much to pay him and they passed. In some fairness to the Blackhawks, they aren’t flush with cap room.

Well, Jay Glazer says that there isn’t any truth to it.

“Giants are not interested in trading for matt leinart. They are looking for a veteran backup who’s perfectly content w being eli’s backup,” Glazer tweets.

That’s the problem. Leinart is delusional and thinks he should be a starting QB for someone (UFL?). He’d just be a headache to anyone who traded for him strictly as a backup. This isn’t USC anymore, Matt.

This is hilarious. We guess when your baseball team stinks and no one really cares if you win or lose (usually lose), you need to find ways to entertain yourself.

Adam Laroche of the Arizona Diamondbacks certainly has. He’s made sure the PA system plays “It’s Raining Men” by the Weather Girls when Kelly Johnson comes up to the plate.

Here’s the video of it. Check out Johnson’s reaction. It’s probably not a good idea if you want the guy to focus at the plate, but who cares? It’s not like they are going to the playoffs.

And then he did it again. He’s trying to hear TI’s “Whatever You Like,” but they still throw the Weather Girls over top of it. His reaction is great.

You are getting a brand spanking new Grand Prix racetrack. And based on what we are seeing, there are a few different objects that designer Herman Tilike may have used for inspiration.

Is it a huge bong as Jalopnik suggests? Is it a microscope? How about a dildo (sexual assault with a concrete dildo??)?

Ah, but nonetheless, there is a new $200 million racetrack coming to Texas and it’s supposed to be pretty sweet (if you give a rat’s ass about auto racing). The 3.4-mile track that’s not far from Austin sports 30 turns, 133 feet of elevation change and a 0.75-mile long straight. Again, awesome if you care about auto racing.

We’ll say this: we’d rather watch Formula 1′s go around a bong-shaped track and actually have to shift gears and speed up and slow down than watch NASCAR races that just go in an oval. We’ve tried very hard, but we still don’t get NASCAR.

Lucky for Matt, it seems three football teams are interested in trading for him. Yes, actual National League Football teams.

PHOTO CAPTION: Matt nurses a hangover in a 2008 Cardinals game

“Three teams have discussed trading for QB Matt Leinart — Bills, Raiders, Giants,” Adam Schefter tweets. “Now we wait to see if any pull trigger by this weekend.”

If Leinart is traded, he would be nothing more than a third string quarterback. Even in Buffalo, Brian Brohm would most likely be the back-up quarterback.

And can you imagine watching Matt “Pretty Boy” Leinart play in the cold weather if somehow he sees the field in New York or Buffalo? He played his college ball underneath the warm sun in the PAC-10. Football is a little different in the Northeast, it’s where the real men play.

Tuesday night the Mets found that help. They traded for second baseman Joaquin Arias, who some say has the eye of an eagle and the patience of a cheetah in an African hunt.

PHOTO CAPTION: Arias was named after his mother’s favorite actor of all-time, Joaquin Phoenix

“He’s the younger version of a Dominican Chase Utley who bats right handed,” someone once said.

In return, the Texas Rangers landed right fielder Jeff Francoeur, who the Rangers hope can help extend their 8.5 lead in the American League West. Obviously, the trade was made to benefit Texas, not New York. Jeff gives them another right-handed bat coming off the bench for the post season.

Frenchie is batting .237 with only 11 homeruns this year, but maybe a change of scenery will help him get back to performing the way Major League fans expect him to perform. Playing in New York for the Mets only helps a player accomplish two things: getting hurt and becoming awful.

The fact that Mets GM Omar Minaya got anything in return for Francouer is somewhat amazing. Earlier in the day, the St. Louis Cardinals offered New York tickets to next seasons premier of Last Comic Standing.

Lately, they’ve been weak in the secondary and don’t have a great pass rush. Now, things have gotten worse.

The Patriots have sent their top cornerback Leigh Bodden to injured reserve. That’s huge. He has a torn rotator cuff and won’t be able to play this year. That’s a killer for the Patriots.

It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if they had someone who could rush the passer. For christ’s sake, the New York Giants won the Super Bowl in 2007 with a lousy secondary, but, their front four was so filthy that it didn’t matter. The Patriots don’t have that luxury.

Bodden was signed to a four-year, $22 million contract this offseason, so this can’t be thrilling for New England. It looks like will thrust Devin McCourty into the starting lineup. They better hope he can play.

How is the arm feeling, Tom? You’re going to need it.

“Cards have been contacting teams today shopping qb matt leinart, according to several sources. Unclear what compensation they r looking for,” Glazer tweets.

What in the world would a team give up for Leinart? No only has he shown that he’s not very good at football, but he doesn’t seem to have the leadership qualities necessary to play NFL quarterback. He’s also due $2.5 million this season, so good luck getting someone interested.

If he’s not the best left-handed starter in the majors then we’d love to know who is. But, this month has not been going his way.

Lee gave up seven runs in 4 2/3 innings to the Kansas City Royals today, and four of those runs were earned. He now has now allowed 27 earned runs in his last five starts. Very un-Cliff Lee-like (we have no clue if that’s appropriate use of hyphens. Don’t bother us with details).

He ends the month of August with a 1-4 record (we hate W/L as an official stat…very misleading) and a 6.35 ERA (whoa! that’s not!).

Because the Rangers are kicking the ever-loving snot out of everyone else in the AL West, this isn’t a huge problem right now. But, it is a priority to get Lee right for the playoffs. He could be the difference between winning and losing a playoff series.

He’s the Cuban kid that the Cincinnati Reds just brought up from AAA Louisville. Oh, and he hit 105 mph on the radar gun last Friday night.

Well, the Reds brought him up to be a reliever for them down the stretch run, and so far it’s paid off. Sure, he’s only pitched one inning, but he was perfect in that frame and hit 103 mph on the gun.

So far, so good?

We can’t wait to actually watch Chapman in a game. 103 is nasty. Filthy. We’ve heard that he has control issues, but when you throw that hard, it could actually help you. Remember when John Kruk wanted no part of an at-bat against Randy Johnson in an All-Star game? We have to believe that’s what is going through hitters’ minds at the plate.

Juuuuuuust a bit outside…..he tried the corner and missed.

We don’t know for sure that he was drinking Early Times (we sure hope it was), but he definitely had too much of some kind of booze.

Khabibulin was found guilty on August 27th of driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol count of .08 or more, excessive speeding and extreme driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of .15 or more.

We don’t think extreme drinking and driving is as fun as it sounds. We’re thinking Mountain Dew type of extreme DUI. Probably not that kind of fun and probably doesn’t involve a kayak or a skateboard.

So anyway, he was sentenced today to 30 days in jail.
PHOTO CAPTION: Mark Ingram started his football career with the New York Giants

Alabama officials are ruling Ingram out for their season opener against visiting powerhouse San Jose State who currently sit atop the Western Athletic Conference at 0-0. Furthermore, it is also looking like Ingram will miss the Tide’s second game against Penn State as head coach Nick Satan is monitoring him on a week-to-week basis.

Ingram was eight yards shy of surpassing 2,000 yards from scrimmage with 1,658 being on the ground. He also rushed for 17 touchdowns and three of his 32 catches were good for endzone trots as well.

Sophomore Trent Richardson will replace Ingram in the starting lineup and redshirt freshman Eddie Lacy could also see some increased playing time.

Alabama opens the season ranked number one in both the AP and the USA Today polls. Pre-season rankings mean everything and are the most accurate method used to predict championship teams.
