Well, technically she didn’t because there was no gun used in the commission of the murder of the former boxing champion. But, 23-year old Amanda Rodrigues has been detained by Brazilian police and accused of killing Gatti.

She was taken into custody after there were inconsistencies in her interrogation responses. She says that she was the one who found him in the apartment, but couldn’t explain how she didn’t notice him for 10 hours. Rodrigues does admit that they fought Friday night after dinner and that he pushed her to the ground, causing minor injuries to her elbow and chin.

Gatti was found dead by a result of a strangling by a purse strap. Authorities also said that he had a blow to the head. Ironic that someone who used to fight for a purse, actually lost to a purse.

Former boxing champion Arturo Gatti was found dead in Brazil today while “enjoying” his second honeymoon with this wife. His body was blood-stained and foul play is suspected. Stay tuned on this one.
