Carmona’s mother outed Heredia weeks earlier

Well isn’t this interesting? If this doesn’t shine even more light on the fact that MLB has no clue what it’s getting from player’s from foreign countries, I don’t know what does. First we had the Leo Nunez fake identity scandal, and now this. You know that pitcher on the Cleveland Indians, Fausto Carmona, that [...]

Braves ship Lowe to the Indians

We mentioned previously that there was a chance that Atlanta Braves starter Derek Lowe might not be in the team’s plans for 2012, despite the fact that they gave him a decent free agent contract just a few years ago. He has a big salary, and there really is no room for him considering his [...]

Tommy John for Carrasco?

Cleveland Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco has been on the DL since early August with elbow issues. And while nothing is certain yet, MLB.com’s Jordan Bastian says that the team is considering the possibility of Tommy John surgery. “Acta: Indians still exploring options for Carrasco (right elbow). Tommy John surgery is a possibility, but is not [...]

Sizemore has sports hernia surgery

Remember when we mentioned a day or so ago that Cleveland Indians OF Grady Sizemore had “a lot of concern“? Well, he’s got more things wrong with him than that. Jordan Bastian of MLB.com tweets that Sizemore had sports hernia surgery today. “Sizemore underwent abdominal surgery on Thurs in Philadelphia to correct sports hernia. Recovery [...]

There is “a lot of concern” over Sizemore’s knee

The Cleveland Indians placed centerfielder Grady Sizemore on the DL today with a right knee issue. He has a bruised right knee and he says that it feels similar to how his left knee felt last year. “There’s a lot of concern,” said Sizemore. “I just hope I don’t have to go through what I [...]

Carrasco shines, proves Phillies made huge mistake in Lee trade

The Philadelphia Phillies made a brave choice back in 2009 when they traded for stud left-hander Cliff Lee. They sent Carlos Carrasco, Jason Donald, Jason Knapp and Lou Marson to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for the Cy Young-award winner. Lee got the Phillies within two wins of a repeat World Series championship back then, [...]

Sizemore getting MRI on knee

This can’t be good. Cleveland Indians centerfielder Grady Sizemore missed a ton of time last year with a right knee that required surgery. Well, he’s out of Wednesday’s lineup with another knee problem. Luckily for him and the city of Cleveland, it’s the other knee. Then again, you could look at it as though he [...]

Mascot gets humped in Cleveland (video)

Thanks to our buddy Frank Ward of TheDailyPhiladelphian.com for showing us this clip. This is hysterical. Here is the video of a Cleveland Indians fan humping their mascot, Slider. Slider and the team employee certainly didn’t appreciate it, but we did! And just a side note, what the hell is this thing? It’s named “Slider” [...]

Manny to retire after testing positive for PED’s…again

Tampa Bay Rays DH/OF Manny Ramirez has informed MLB that he is retiring after he was informed that he tested positive yet again for performance-enhancing drugs. Sources tell ESPN that he tested positive for PED’s in spring training and has decided to retire instead of sitting out a 100-game suspension. “Major League Baseball recently notified [...]

Kearns rocks the party in Kentucky

Remember when Austin Kearns was supposed to be good? Yeah, we don’t either. It was like 2002 when he was with Cincinnati. Now at 30-years old, he’s expected to be a part-time left fielder for the Cleveland Indians. Luckily, they don’t have enough talent to cut someone who screws up with the law, because that’s [...]

Whether you are a sports fan or not, this story is a must-read. We aren’t exactly sure how we never heard this, but some people are aware of it and all are blown away. We get chills just typing this.

Sizemore done for the season

The Cleveland Indians are one of the best teams in baseball and it seems like they just got even better. Outfielder Grady Sizemore, who used to be one of their decent players, will miss the rest of the season after undergoing a microfracture procedure on his knee. Sizemore was on fire for the Tribe, hitting [...]

Galarraga robbed of perfect game in the ninth

Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga made his first start tonight in place of Dontrelle Willis, who was traded to the Diamondbacks yesterday. All he was able to do against the Cleveland Indians was throw a perfect game through 8 2/3. Then came Jason Donald, who was acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies in the Cliff Lee [...]

Huff seems to be ok

Cleveland Indians pitcher David Huff got rocked in the noggin on Saturday afternoon by an A-Rod line drive. Most people would not want that to happen to them. Huff most likely didn’t either. But surprisingly, he seems to be alright today. “David Huff is doing very very well today. Not showing any signs of a [...]

Indians television broadcaster lambastes the team on air

This is great. Bruce Drennan is the television broadcaster for the Cleveland Indians. It doesn’t seem that he’s aware that the team wasn’t supposed to be very good. Losing CC Sebathia and Cliff Lee in the last few years doesn’t make your team better. But, Drennan goes off anyway, and we love it. We aren’t [...]

Wood activated from the MPL (DL)

The Cleveland Indians have activated closer Kerry Wood off of the Mark Prior List (DL) after just two rehab starts. It’s a little odd because he gave up six runs in the first one. To make room for Wood, they optioned Jensen Lewis to AAA Columbus. Wood had been on the MPL since April 3rd [...]

Shocker! Kerry Wood out 6-8 weeks

Cleveland Indians closer Kerry Wood is back to his old ways. And when we say “old ways,” we mean finding himself back on the Mark Prior List. Chris Perez will take over the closer role for the next 6-8 weeks as Wood is out with a strained right latissimus dorsi muscle. “I’m excited, but at [...]
