The Detroit Lions have reeled in former Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks WR Nate Burleson with a five-year, $25 million deal with $11 million in guarantees. Detroit Lions GM Martin Mayhew says that the team plans to draft the best talent available regardless of position in this year’s NFL draft. We think it’s just common sense to know that this doesn’t mean taking a QB #2-overall if there happens to be a good one there.

A league source tells PFT that former Cleveland Browns WR Donte Stallworth is working out for the Detroit Lions. Surprisingly, the Lions could use a WR. Tough to imagine since they took them high in the first round in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007.

Johnson has missed the last two games after injuring his right knee against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Detroit Lions rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford had a setback after practicing on Wednesday. Stafford experienced more swelling in his right knee, which was injured three weeks ago when Chicago Bears Adewale Ogunleye dislocated his knee cap during a sack.
